Cruise Views Marathon
The special event that we’ve been talking about for months is almost here! From May 2nd through May 22nd, during our Cruise Views Marathon, we’ll be focusing on family cruising (with kids). During this event, we’ll be posting interviews, live onboard happenings, insider tips and more. You’ll have the opportunity to follow our trials and tribulations in addition to the excitement onboard as we sail on the Carnival Sensation, Disney Wonder and Norwegian Jewel in our quest for the most family friendly cruise (we’ll be crowning a winner at the end of this event).

Listening to NCLs webinar on Tuesday, it seems that the Nickelodeon themed cruise program is a huge success! We are very fortunate to have one of our readers on the first sailing and we’ll be posting our interview with her this weekend as a sneak preview to our live blogging event onboard the Norwegian Jewel beginning on May 15th. We are so excited!

How can I participate in this event?
You can read, enjoy, comment, ask lots of questions, share with your friends and support our sponsors! Oh, and did I forget to mention that you can win cool stuff too!
How Do I Leave a Comment?
Pretty simple, if you are on our main page, click on the “Comment” text at the very end of the post (after the tags). This will take you to the individual post page where there is a section entitled “Leave a Reply”. Enter your name, e-mail address (required) and website (optional) then enter your comment or question and press the “Submit Comment” button. We will be interacting with our readers several times each day.
My Comment Did Not Appear – What Do I Do?
Don’t worry, as this is a family oriented website, we moderate all first time commenters. The approval process may be delayed while at sea, so please be patient. Once you have an approved comment, all future comments (using the same name and e-mail) will be approved and post automatically. Needless to say, spammers will be deleted!
How Can I Share This Event With My Friends And Family?
At the very top of the right sidebar you will find a Share tool. This same tool is also located at the bottom of each post. Simply click on the bar andyou will be offered over 200 ways to share the website or post. This tool will also allow you to bookmark a particular post.
Can I Just Participate On This Website Or Should I Also Follow Along On Twitter?
You can do one or both, but in order to get the most out of this event, you’ll want to do both. We will be having Twitter only giveaways as well as information and tips that are only provided via Twitter.
How Do I Follow You/This Event On Twitter?
You can click on the “Follow Us On Twitter” icon in the right sidebar. That will allow you to see everything that we are tweeting. If you have a Twitter account, just click on the Follow icon and we’ll be added to your stream.

How Do I Become Eligible For Giveaways?
For giveaways conducted on our website, you will receive one entry for every comment that you make on an event related post (noted as such at the end of the post), with a limit of one entry per post per day. You may comment as much as you wish, but only your first comment on each event related post each day will count toward the giveaway. Pingbacks and trackbacks do not count as a valid entry. If you wish to promote or sponsor this event, please contact us directly.
For Twitter giveaways, you must add @thelollipoproad to your list of Followers. Only Followers are eligible. You will receive one entry for each tweet that you make that includes both one of our unique #hashtags (above) and our Twitter ID (@thelollipoproad), limited to one entry per day per Follower. Entries made using a particular #hashtag are only valid for the dates listed for each #hashtag (above). Tweets using a #hashtag outside of the valid date range will not result in an entry being recorded. You may make as many tweets as you wish each day, but only one will count toward the giveaway.
All giveaways will be awarded at the end of the entire event using a random selection generator and winners will be posted and/or tweeted on Monday, May 24, 2010. The number of giveaway items and their allocation between website entries and twitter entries will be determined at our sole discretion and is subject to change without notice. The final number/allocation of giveaways will be determined at the conclusion of the event as we anticipate sponsors will continue to provide items during the event. A representative list of giveaway items will be updated via this page.
Twitter entrants must remain a Follower and be able to receive a notification from us via direct message. If a winning entrant is not a Follower on the date of notification, they shall forfeit any claim. Website entrants must use a valid e-mail address in their comment for their entry to be valid. Giveaways are open to residents of the United States and Canada only.
I’m Confused – How Many Chances Do I Get To Win?
It is actually quite simple. For each comment you make each day to an event related post (marked as such) you will receive one entry. For example, if on the 10th day of the event there are ten event related posts that we have made since the start of the event and you make one comment on each of those 10 posts that day, you will receive ten entries for that day. At the conclusion of the event, we will put all of the website entires into a random generator and keep picking until we’ve awarded all of the giveaways allocated to our website event.
For Twitter entries, there can only be one entry per day (except for May 6th when two events overlap) as the #hashtags are for unique date ranges. So, if you participate on Twitter every day during the event, you can earn up to 17 entries (there are no Twitter events from May 10th-14th). At the conclusion of the event, we will put all of the Twitter entires into a random generator and keep picking until we’ve awarded all of the giveaways allocated to our Twitter event.
Can I Win More Than Once?
Absolutely! However, if one entrant wins more than once, we will make every effort to award different items rather than the same item.
Do I Get To Choose My Item?
Unfortunately, due to the number of items that will be given away, we will not be able to entertain specific requests. However, if you are hoping to get a particular item and are excited about it, feel free to say so in your comments!
